Based off of an abandoned warehouse, the Addis Building was once a department store in the city of Syracuse, New York.
The wall study shows different iteration of the wave pattern. The pattern is constructed through undulating wooden dowels. Through this repeated undulation, the wave pattern is formed. The wave pattern represents the journey of the immigrants to our country, where they face ups and downs and quite physically trekking across large bodies of water. The single wave tile is pressed together with other wave tiles, creating a larger wave texture.
